７月１３日　今年も「持続的農村開発コース」研修がガーナ、ケニア、南アフリカなどから、６名の研修員をお迎えして２泊３日の研修が始まりました。
９時半頃到着された皆さんは、阿武町への表敬訪問を済ませると、早速奈古高校に行きました。
奈古高校では農場の視察の後、生徒の皆さんが、草花、野菜、畜産に分かれて実習をされる所を見学したり、実際に手伝ったりしながら沢山の質問をされていました。
昼食は生徒の皆さんと一緒に弁当を食べながら楽しい交流をしました。
午後は、阿武町の定住対策やＩターンなどへの取り組みについての説明や、実際に住宅を回ったり、道の駅なども見て頂きました。
　今回の研修の中で１番の目的は、農事組合法人についてそれぞれ取り組んでおられるようすを３カ所を回りながら、地域や規模によって取り組みの違いを検証して頂くところにあります。
最初に、奈古地区の宇久営農生産組合にお邪魔をしました。
また、清ヶ浜の清掃活動と環境問題を見て頂く予定でしたが、研修員の皆さんは、美しい海を見た途端にリラックスモードに入り、環境問題の話などは詳しくできませんでした。
でも、海を眺めながら忙しかった一日の疲れを癒しておられるようすに、私たちもしばしその微笑ましいようすに見入ってしまいました。
On July 13th, again this year, the 3-days-2-nights training program of ‘Sustainable Rural Development’ Course started, accepting 6 participants from Ghana, Kenya and South Africa.  They arrived at Abu Town Government Office at 9:30 and soon after the courtesy call they visited Nago High School.  In the school they observed first the facilities of farmland.  The students are divided into flower, vegetable and livestock groups and the participants helped them and asked many questions.  They had their lunch with the students and they spent a very cheerful time over lunch.
　　In the afternoon, we explained about the settlement and I-turn project of Abu Town and took them to the residences and the roadside station of Abu.
　　The first objective of this program is to visit the three agricultural producers’ cooperative corporations and understand their differences in their activities depending on their scales and regions.  First of all we visited Uku community farming producers’ cooperative.
　　We also would like them to observe cleaning and environmental activities of Kiyogahama beach, but, they all became very relaxed observing the beautiful sea and we couldn’t talk about the environmental issues.  We just let them enjoy their time observing the sea with their happy and relaxing mood, to relieve the busy day’s fatigue.

熱かった１日も、夕方ともなると、木々の間を流れてくる風が、とても心地よく感じられました。
At Kikoriya, they had dinner in the garden outside.  After the hot daytime, in the evening, we enjoyed very refreshing and comfortable wind coming from through the trees.

１４日　研修２日目　　July 14th, the Second day

研修２日目は、中規模農事組合法人のあぶの郷について、岡村組合長、水津事務局長の話を聞きました。
研修員から「大学などの研究期間との連携は取っているのか」や「Ｉターンできた人たちを雇い入れるつもりはあるのか」などの質問が出ていました。
また、急遽研修員の希望で、梨園なども視察コースに入れました。
　お昼はあぶの郷女性部「みのり会」の皆さんによる素晴らしい料理を作って頂きました。
午後は、大規模農事組合法人を訪れ、山本組合長や原組合員さんのお話を聞きました。
その後はうもれ木の郷女性部「四つ葉サークル」の活動について、池田さん、大倉さんのお話を聞きました。
On the second day, participants learned about the middle-scale agricultural producers’ cooperative corporation Abu no Sato, through the explanation of Mr. Okamura, Chairman, and Mr. Mizutsu, Secretary General.

Participants asked questions such as ‘Are you taking cooperation with research institutes like universities?’ or ‘Are you planning to employ I-turn new settlers?’

In the observation course, we included the pear orchard upon their request.

  ‘Minori kai’, the women’s department of Abu no Sato, prepared wonderful lunch.

  In the afternoon, they learned about the large-scale corporation, Umoregi no Sato through the explanation of Mr. Yamamoto, Chairman and Mr. Hara.  After that, Ms. Ikeda and Ms. Okura explained about the ‘Yotsuba Circle’, the women’s department of Umoregi no Sato.

１５日の朝いよいよお別れという時、ケニアのダニエルさんから「あなたはいつアフリカに来てくれるのか」と言われました。（多分こんな意味だったと思う）
「是非妻とケニアに行きたい、その時には案内をお願いします。」するとダニエルさんが「ＯＫ任せてくれ」と言ってしっかり手を握ってくれました。
本当に短い期間でしたが、私と研修員の間には、もう国境なんて関係ないように思えてきました。
At the last moment of departure, Daniel san from Kenya asked me, ‘When will you come to Africa?’ (I guessed what he meant.)
　　I replied, ‘I wish to go to Kenya with my wife.  Please guide us in that occasion.’  Then, Daniel san said, ‘OK.  I surely will.’

　今回通訳としてお世話して頂いた秋山さん、中野さん大変お疲れさまでした。
昼間の研修だけでなく、民宿では夜遅くまで世間話の通訳にお付き合い頂き、大変有り難うございました。
お二人のお陰で、今回も素晴らしい充実した研修となりました。

Always farewell makes us sad, but we made promised to meet again in November…
